Collecting Bobbleheads

My love affair with bobbleheads started as a teenage. Having been born in Chicago, I was raised in “Chicago is the greatest city” environment. My grandparents, parents and extended family were all raised and loved the city. While I was in high school, my grandparents passed away and I inherited my first bobblehead, an antique Chicago Bears football player. This bobblehead followed me through college, marriage and the early years my early career. After starting my agency in 2002, I began to accumulate bobbleheads and displayed them in our conference room. The collection outgrew the conference and I had shelves installed in our lobby where the collection of more than 100 bobbleheads where proudly showcased along with the awards our agency won.

Custom Bobbleheads

My agency’s “brand” began to integrate bobbleheads into the marketing materials. The bobbleheads were a great reflection of our quirky and artistic personality. It seemed only fitting that we had custom bobbleheads created for our team. For part of each employees Christmas gift in 2013, we had custom bobbleheads made for each team member. All future agency team members became eligible for their own custom bobblehead after 90 days with the company.

Real vs. Bobble

The likenesses between the Real person and the Bobble person are often uncanny. Admittedly, some turn out better than others, but most are adequate recreations of the real person.

Bobbleheads + Photoshop

Using my mad Photoshop skills I take my custom bobblehead and incorporate it into popular photos. I do this for a few reasons. First, they make me laugh. Second, they make for unique social media profile pics.  Third, they make me laugh (I know I already said that, but it merits being said twice).

Bobblehead Gallery

Below are many of the bobblehead images I have created over the past several years. Most of the images take me 10-15 minutes to create. If nothing else, they make me giggle with happiness while I create them and post them to social media. From that standpoint…they are a total win. Check me out on Facebook to see the latest creations.
