BACKSTORY

In the early years of our agency, ABC Family was one of our largest and most consistent clients. We partnered with them on numerous major campaigns, and Smallville was one of the standout projects. At the time, the series—starring Tom Welling and Kristin Kreuk—had a massive following, and ABC Family wanted to make a splash as the new home for reruns of the show.

CHALLENGE

ABC Family needed a destination site that would energize Smallville fans and drive them to tune into the show on their network. The site had to feel cinematic, interactive, and content-rich—worthy of a superhero origin story that had captured millions of fans.

  • Drive tune-in for Smallville on ABC Family
  • Give existing fans an immersive digital home
  • Leverage popular cast members in search
  • Deliver a modern, interactive experience using Flash

ENGAGMENT

We crafted a dynamic web experience that combined sleek visuals with robust content. Using Flash animation and a strategic UX/UI structure, we created a site that felt alive—offering fans a reason to visit again and again.

  • Interactive episode summaries and air date tools
  • Content strategy to highlight cast and episodes
  • Full front-end development and Flash programming

THE RESULTS

The Smallville website launch was a win across the board. ABC Family saw a significant uptick in traffic and viewer engagement leading up to and following the syndication debut. The site became a digital hub for fans, offering exclusive content that kept them coming back between episodes. Our Flash animations and intuitive UX gave the site a cinematic feel that resonated with the tone of the show, while the galleries and episode summaries created a strong content ecosystem that extended the life of the series online. Most importantly, the campaign drove measurable tune-in for ABC Family—proving that great digital work can fuel real-world results. This project helped solidify our agency’s role as a go-to digital partner for high-stakes entertainment campaigns.
