Kidding. I have hacked his website, but I am also just a 5’4″ softie who loves plants and pets puppies, nothing evil to see here!
I am so excited for this ever-growing movement, More Creative Academy. How did this collaboration come about? Well, allow me to share a story with you.
Once upon a time, I owned a marketing and events agency in sunny Pensacola, Florida. In 2019, I was asked to execute the logistics for a new design conference called, DesignXL. Mike was a keynote speaker and brought incredible value. We had a chance to talk in-depth about conferences and agency speak on commutes to and from and we agreed that someday in the future, we should work together.
Fast-forward a year later, Mike consulted for my agency, Social ICON, and I took great value from his instruction and guidance during that time. Later, I was recruited by a PR firm, but my love for events remained.
My contract with that firm ended, and while I was looking for my next big project, Mike simultaneously wondered, what’s the next big leap for MCA?
Recently, we connected blindly and chatted for two hours about adding value to More Creative Academy. After some discussion, we agreed that a design conference and next-level retreats should be in the future for MCA.
Now, I don’t know if you all know Mike, but once a seed is planted, a plan grows like the weeds on a hot, humid day. A couple of weeks later, I sent my proposal of ideas, he made me an offer to come on full-time, and here we are, ready to make sh*t happen.
